Have you ever thought about what is really stopping you from having the health that you truly desire?
You may have thoughts like:
I've tried everything, and it didn't work, so I can't do it
I'm too tired
I'm too old
I don't have enough time
I'll wait until my kids are older
It's expensive to eat healthy
Healthy food tastes bad
If these sound familiar to you, I get it, it takes courage to be healthy. It's not that we don't know what to do, but for many reasons, we just can't seem to start it or stick with it. You may not realize that these thoughts are your brain's tricky way to stop you from receiving what you really want. Even if these thoughts are your reality.
So, how do we stop our brains from having these thoughts so we can have the health that we so badly desire?
The simple answer is, we can't stop them.
Our brain is actually doing its job perfectly. It wants to convince you to stop what you’re doing (getting healthy) because it’s not safe, it's unfamiliar. Our brain's most important job is to protect us.
Our brain doesn’t want us to go out and do something new or unknown. It doesn’t want you to take those risks or leaps of faith to finally get healthy or lose weight or feel the way you truly want to feel.
And, on top of that, our amazing brain seeks and collects all the evidence to prove our thoughts and beliefs as "right":
You have proof as to why you are tired
You can prove that healthy food is more expensive
You have evidence that your days are super busy
However, the truth about what is stopping you from your health goals is that you believe your thoughts to be true and have bought into them.
So, it's not about stopping these thoughts, it's about learning how our own brain works, and what it says to try and get us off track. We have learned these patterns and have been conditioned to these thoughts and beliefs our whole life, that it's sometimes hard to see them ourselves.
As a nutritionist and health coach, my job is to help show you where you are limiting yourself, and where you might be giving your power away. I help keep you accountable to your dreams and desires and support you along the way.
Remember, I am on this journey with you.
So, where do you give your power away and limit the amazing person that you are?
I can help you.
With so much love,
XO Deana

Healthful Tip
One of my favorite ways to get in a bunch of fruits and veggies and nutrient-dense foods in one sitting is a SMOOTHIE! Smoothies are easy, fast, and healthy…who doesn’t love that?
Here is a typical smoothie that I make on most days:
Frozen berries: ½ cup or so of organic frozen berries. I get the different mix bags from Costco
Greens: A large handful of greens: I usually have spinach or the spring or power greens mix.
Fat: Coconut flakes. Or some type of nut butter or healthy fat
Optional add-ins: ground flax seed, protein powder, collagen, cinnamon, cacao, banana, turmeric, cauliflower (you can't taste it in the smoothie)
Liquid: Usually Purified water, sometimes dairy-free milk
Throw some things in the blender and mix away!!!
